This floating complex has been dubbed “The Citadel”, as designed by Koen Olthuis of Waterstudio.  Built on a floating foundation of heavy concrete, this is the world’s first floating apartment complex. Intended as an ecological addition to Dutch architecture, The Citadel will house 60 luxury apartments, a car park, a floating road to access the complex and a series of boat docks. Additionally, The Citadel will use 25% less energy than a conventional building on land thanks to its water cooling technologies.
